Chasing the tone I loved took me further than I ever imagined, from working alongside SRV's tech René Martinez and Eric Clapton's tech Lee Dickson, to designing pickups for Johnny Winter and Alex Lifeson. The Vintage Recipe Tele bridge pickup is slightly overwound and combines Alnico 5 under the wound strings for more punch and definition with Alnico 2 under the plain strings for sweeter, smoother highs. Paired with a strat voiced neck pickup, these pickups have way more versatility to cover all kinds of tone territories.
