Behind Brickhouse

Over two decades of experience behind every pickup.

My obsession took me places I never expected. I worked alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan’s tech, René Martinez, and Eric Clapton’s tech, Lee Dickson. I went on to design pickups for legendary players including Johnny Winter and Alex Lifeson.

And through all of it, I came away with one conviction: every player deserves a pickup built with that same obsession for tone and attention to detail—something mass production simply can’t replicate.

That’s why I built Brickhouse Toneworks.

The Story Behind Brickhouse

Meet The BH-90

Keep the P-90 Tone. Ditch the Hum.

If you've tried other noiseless humbucker-sized P-90s and felt like something was missing — that last 10% of clarity, responsiveness, or top-end air — the BH-90 is what you've been looking for.

The BH-90 humbucker sized P-90 was designed from the ground up to give you authentic vintage P-90 character without the 60-cycle hum. No routing. No guitar modifications. And no sacrificing the open, responsive feel that makes a great P-90 worth playing in the first place.

The Vintage Recipe

From vintage Tele twang, to toneful modern rock

The Vintage Recipe bridge pickup is slightly overwound and combines Alnico 5 under the wound strings for more punch and definition with Alnico 2 under the plain strings for sweeter, smoother highs.

The neck pickup is Strat-voiced using Alnico 5 and wound with 42-gauge wire for more power, grit, and chime than a traditional Tele neck pickup.
