Embossed Top Hat Reflector Volume MOD Knob for Gibson® Guitars

$0.00 $2.89

This model is taller than traditional, vintage-style top hat reflector knobs. When installed, the knob slightly hovers above the guitar’s body, providing near-complete protection for the potentiometer while offering more surface area for a secure grip.

Norlin® reflector inserts feature a brushed stainless steel–style finish with a distinctive east-to-west grain pattern.

* Please note that these are artisan-crafted knobs, made by hand in the traditional manner rather than being injection molded. This reflects the original manufacturing approach used in vintage-era hardware, with attention to detail and material authenticity. While not always the case, there may be slight variations or minor imperfections from piece to piece due to the handmade process, which is part of what makes each item unique.

The Gibson Mod® Collection arrived in 2017. Offering one of a kind guitars with unique finishes and hardware. A middle ground between standard production and the top-shelf Custom Shop, it gives players exclusive customization at a more accessible price.

Gibson® first introduced the top hat control knob in the mid 1950s, featuring black or gold skirted designs with numbers around the base. Around 1960, a flat metal disc was inset into the top, catching and reflecting light, earning it the nickname “reflector knob”.

Embossed guitar knobs are a step up in quality from stamped versions. This method is a nod to traditional craftsmanship of earlier production methods. By pressing the numbering directly into the material, it ensures a clean, crisp imprint every single time while giving the numbers a distinctive, three-dimensional look.
