They replaced the earlier reflector/top hat knobs seen on late 1950s models. Marking a visual shift in design as the company entered the Norlin® era.

The neck and bridge pickups are RWRP (Reverse Wound Reverse Polarity) from each other so that you can achieve hum-canceling when both pickups are combined in the middle position. This is a modern advantage that comes standard with all of our single coils.
